How Khojdeu collects, uses, and protects your personal information

Effective date: 13 October 2026 · Last updated: 13 October 2026

This Privacy Policy explains how Finnove Technologies Pvt. Ltd. (“Khojdeu”, “we”, “us”) collects, uses, stores, and discloses personal information when you use the Khojdeu website and application (the “Platform”), which connects people seeking commercial space (“Tenants”) with those offering it (“Owners”). We handle your information in accordance with the Individual Privacy Act, 2075 (2018), the Individual Privacy Regulation, 2077 (2020), and Article 28 of the Constitution of Nepal.

By using the Platform, you consent to the collection and use of your information as described here. If you do not agree, please do not use the Platform.

1. Who we are

The Platform is operated by Finnove Technologies Pvt. Ltd., a company registered in Nepal, with its registered office at Kathmandu, Nepal. For any privacy-related query you may contact us at [email protected].

2. Information we collect

Information you provide

  • Account details: your name, email address and profile photo from your Google account, when you sign in with Google. We don’t receive or store a password.
  • Contact details on your posts: the name and mobile number you add to a listing or requirement.
  • Owner listing details: property type, location/area, size, rent, photographs, and descriptions you submit.
  • Tenant requirement details: business type, preferred areas, budget, size, timeline, and any notes you add.
  • Inquiries: the name, mobile number and message you send to an Owner about a listing.
  • Payments: what you buy, the amount, Khalti’s payment reference, and the credits and contacts in your account. Khalti processes the payment itself; we never see your Khalti PIN or card details.
  • Communications: any correspondence with our support team.

Information collected automatically

  • Sign-in sessions: the IP address and browser of each signed-in session, to keep you signed in and protect your account.
  • Usage: pages viewed and similar events, through analytics we host ourselves. Personal details in page addresses, such as search terms and payment references, are removed before they are recorded.
  • View counts: a random ID kept in your browser, so a listing view is counted once a day. On our servers it is stored only in a scrambled form, for two days.

We do not knowingly collect sensitive personal information as defined in Section 27(2) of the Individual Privacy Act (such as caste, ethnicity, religion, political affiliation, or health data), and ask that you do not submit it through listings, requirements, or inquiries.

3. How we use your information

Consistent with the purpose-limitation principle of the Privacy Act, we use your information only for the purposes for which it was collected, namely to:

  • Create and manage your account;
  • Review listings and requirements before they are published, and check that listings appear genuine and available;
  • Publish Owner listings and show them to interested Tenants;
  • Match Tenant requirements to available listings and show requirements to Owners and brokers who may have a fitting space;
  • Show the contact details on a listing or requirement to the users who unlock it, and deliver inquiries to Owners;
  • Process payments, credits and refunds;
  • Send you emails about your account, payments and posts, and alerts you can turn off at any time;
  • Respond to your queries and provide support;
  • Detect, prevent, and address fraud, misuse, or security issues; and
  • Comply with applicable law and lawful requests.

We will not use your personal information for a new, unrelated purpose without first obtaining your consent.

4. Keeping your contact details private

Your mobile number is never displayed publicly. When you add your number to a listing or requirement, you choose to share it with the users who unlock that post: Tenants who unlock an Owner’s number, and Owners and brokers who unlock a requirement (paying per contact, with a credit, or with an Owner Pro or Broker plan). An inquiry you send shares your name and number with that listing’s Owner. Your email address is never shown to other users.

5. How we share information

We do not sell your personal information. We share it only as follows:

  • Between users, to enable matching: listing details are shown to Tenants, and requirement details (business type, areas, budget, size, and timeline) to Owners and brokers. The name and number on a post are shown only to users who unlock it, as described in section 4.
  • Service providers, who process data on our behalf under confidentiality obligations and only as instructed by us: Google (sign-in and maps), Khalti (payments), Amazon Web Services (email delivery and photo storage), Sentry (error reports, which we keep free of your contact details), and our hosting and network providers. Some of them store data on servers outside Nepal.
  • Our team: our admins and moderators can see account and post details to review posts, handle reports and support you. Moderators see contact details only on posts they are reviewing.
  • Legal and protective disclosures: where required by a court order or lawful request of an authorized authority, or where disclosure is already public or made public by you, as permitted under the Privacy Act.

6. Data retention

We keep your personal information only as long as needed for the purposes described above or as required by law:

  • Your account and posts, for as long as your account is open.
  • The name and number on a requirement or listing, until 12 months after it closes or is taken down, so those who unlocked it can still reach you. The number on an inquiry is removed 12 months after it was sent.
  • Sign-in session records, until shortly after they expire; view-count IDs, for two days; notifications, for up to 180 days.
  • Payment records, for as long as the law requires us to keep accounts.

You may ask us to delete your account by emailing [email protected].

7. Your rights

Under the Individual Privacy Act, 2075, you have the right to:

  • Be informed of the purpose, duration, and use of your personal information;
  • Give or withhold consent to collection and use of your personal information;
  • Request access to, and rectification of, inaccurate personal information we hold about you; and
  • Request deletion of your personal information where it is no longer required.

To exercise any of these rights, contact us at [email protected]. Note that the Act provides a three (3) month limitation period for filing privacy complaints directly with the relevant District Court.

8. Security

We implement reasonable technical and organizational measures to protect your personal information against unauthorized access, loss, or misuse, including access controls, encryption in transit, and staff handling restrictions. No system is completely secure, and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

9. Cookies

The Platform uses a cookie to keep you signed in and, if you arrive from a link with campaign tags, a cookie that remembers that campaign for 30 days. It also keeps a random ID in your browser for view counts (see section 2). You can control cookies through your browser settings; disabling them may affect how the Platform works.

10. Children

The Platform is intended for users aged 18 and above. We do not knowingly collect personal information from minors.

11. Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. We will post the revised version with a new “Last updated” date and, where changes are significant, take reasonable steps to notify you.
